Founded in 2016, it serves 2,300+ schools worldwide supporting 625,000+ pupils, 57,000+ teachers and 387,000+ parents. The UK operation is based in Stockport, Greater Manchester, and is aligned to the Ofsted 2025 inspection framework, the National Curriculum, UK GDPR and the DfE’s generative AI standards.
What Edves does
Most UK schools run a competent MIS and then a ring of systems around it — one for assessment, one for behaviour, one for parent communication, a SENCO’s own spreadsheet, a safeguarding platform, and a set of departmental documents holding the curriculum. Each works. The joins are where information dies.
That mattered less under a framework that produced a single word. It matters considerably more under one that grades six evaluation areas separately and asks, for each, what you did and whether it worked.
Edves holds curriculum, assessment, attendance, behaviour, SEND provision, enrichment participation, parent contact and teaching observation on one pupil record, so questions that currently need three people and an afternoon can be answered from a report.

What UK schools use it for
- MIS and school management — admissions, pupil records, timetabling, attendance, assessment and reporting on one record.
- Pedagogy with AI — lesson planning drafted against a named curriculum objective and an explicit instructional model, edited and owned by the teacher.
- Assessment and progress — curriculum-referenced assessment with disaggregation by pupil premium, SEND and any group the school defines.
- Attendance — persistent and severe absence flagging, emerging-pattern detection and a documented intervention trail.
- SEND and inclusion — register, provision mapping, small-step progress and structured support plans.
- Parent engagement — app, SMS, email and voice with delivery reporting.
- Teacher development and CPD — evidence-anchored observation and a continuous CPD record.
Who it is for
- Primary and secondary schools, maintained and academy.
- Multi-academy trusts needing consistency and comparability across schools — see multi-academy trusts.
- Independent schools, including those running international curricula alongside GCSE and A Level.
- Special schools and alternative provision, where small-step progress measurement matters more than cohort comparison.
- Universities and colleges — see higher education.
Where Edves came from, and why that matters
Edves was built originally for schools operating with unreliable power, intermittent connectivity and class sizes well beyond UK norms. That is not an obvious selling point in a British context and it is worth being direct about what it does and does not mean.
What it does not mean is that the product is designed for the UK by default. What it does mean is that the platform tolerates poor connectivity, works on low-specification devices, treats SMS and voice as first-class communication rather than fallbacks, and is engineered for schools that cannot assume a technician on site. Those characteristics are more relevant to a small rural primary or a family without home broadband than most UK vendors assume.
The UK-specific layer — Ofsted evaluation areas, National Curriculum mapping, SEND structures, statutory attendance categories, UK GDPR posture — is built for this market and is what these pages describe.
